For Memorial Day, while most people are barbecuing, my dad fried us up some Japanese tempura. So good! And we all felt like we were pregnant with a food baby by the time we were done. It was the ultimate epicurean experience (or would have been minus Cameron): sitting in the teahouse surrounded by the beautiful Japanese garden, listening to the waterfall, enjoying good company, and savoring small amounts of hot tempura every couple of minutes as they were ready. Having a teahouse party was one thing I wanted to make sure I did while home and I wasn't disappointed!

Pendleton Vacay Part Dos
After six weeks we finally leave Pendleton tomorrow, but just to go to Hawaii, so our vacation isn't really over! (I know, we're spoiled, eh?) But here's what we've been doing in Pendleton.
Of course most of my days were spent with my favorite little guy. He's been getting so big and changing so much! He's probably changed the most this month over any other month in his short little life! He's sitting up, talking a bunch, a rolling machine, eating baby food with the best of them, and he can finally content himself with toys for a time--my favorite improvement. (However, if I'm near by, I have to be paying attention to him or else he'll get upset. See, here's me trying to read a book but not really doing a good job because he kept climbing on me.) But there's no one I'd rather spend my days with! (besides Tyler, but you know...) I'm sure in love with him!
And Tyler has been helping his parents a bunch. Here's him and his dad working on getting a new set of glass doors in the master bedroom. We love spending time over there but actually don't get to do much of since both his parents work and Cam has to be in bed at 9. :( But we have really enjoyed what time we've had with them. And I'm sure they have enjoyed Tyler's help! Who wouldn't want a son like Tyler? I put in an order for one, so we'll see how Cam comes out! ;)
I've been having lots of girly fun with my mom and sisters Amy and Natalie. We went shopping in Tri Cities last week. Us girls are pretty silly when we get together. It's so true that girls need other girls. I have to say I would probably never get sick of having another girl in the house to keep me girly company.
And of course we've been doing tons of eating out--quite the treat for Tyler and I! And I finally got a picture of us doing it too! Here's us with my family at the new Hamley's restaurant in Pendleton--the fancy one! As you can see, Cameron isn't having fun anymore since he wouldn't take an early evening nap. Tyler and I joined billions of others by officially deciding that eating out isn't much fun with a baby.
It has been fabulous being here! So much fun! Probably the first time I've enjoyed being in Pendleton too! Tyler and I really like the small town feel, and having family around made every day eventful and fun! Thanks a ton family!

Looks like lots of fun. Look at all those "twinny" girls with their matching brown hair in that last picture.
I looked at this blog entry a while ago, and it wasn't until I blew up on the pix of us at Hamley's that I saw Cameron's sad little crying face. Ohhhhh. Poor guy.
It WAS great to have you with us. That is fo' sho'.
You're welcome.
James, just come and see us and you can have "TEMPUUURRA CHICKEN" so, when will it be?
