I did it, I finished the Twilight saga. Some of you know I resisted reading any more of the books after I read the first; I have an unexplainable aversion to being part of pop culture hysteria--it took me forever to finally get a Facebook page. I also didn't like being consumed by a fictional love story. I agreed to finish the other books when friends finally convinced me that if I was going to see the movies I might as well read the books. True. But even then, I didn't dive right into making them my next three books, I spaced them out. (I also have this strange idea that at least half my reading should be educational and not pure entertainment.)So I finished Breaking Dawn. No happier person than me that everything ended up the way it did. I'm a sucker for happily ending love stories, especially because I consider Tyler's and my lives together a happy ending to a long love saga as well (although admittedly less dramatic, but still plenty dramatic for the real world). But just one question, without spoiling anything for those who haven't read it: Why with how everything ended up serendipitously as it did, is there still argument over Team Edward and Team Jacob?? I wonder how anyone who sees how everything fit so well in the end can still wish Bella had chosen Jacob? Also, a side note, I was annoyed at all the time spent developing Leah's character, etc. I felt like it was a false (and unnecessary) lead. Did anyone glean anything from that that I missed?

i just read this post, then re-read it as if tyler wrote it. Funny. try it!
did i just read a neal girl write that they had and "aversion to being part of pop culture hysteria?"
uuuum Nsync?
hahaha!
You have to admit that I was only one of a handful of girls in our high school to be all about Nsync, therefore it was unique. AND we jumped on the bandwagon before we had any clue how big they would be!
I think that's so funny how both of us write about "twilight" at the same time! (: So funny. (Did you know that you left Caleb's school picture inside Mom's copy of Eclipse??)
Anyway, I will probably read the last one (although I am tempted not to - I like to imagine my own ending to the story sometimes) but I miss reading about Bella, Edward, and Jacob. (: I've been going through withdrawls the last week! (: So I have to read it, I'm sure. Might have to do it before baby #3 comes though. Maybe I'll wait. . .
I think it's hilarious how you think you HAVE to read something educational. I guess I should have the same goal, but we all know how reading is with me. Won't happen for a while I'm sure.
I agree with you about the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob thing...but I never understood the Team Jacob thing at all while reading the books. The only reason I can think that people are still all about Jacob is because of the movies. Because Robert Pattinson is a lame sauce Edward. I said it. And so if people hadn't read the books, they would way prefer Jacob. Also, some people just don't get Edward. I love Edward. Read Midnight Sun (or what has been written of it) on Stephenie Meyer's website. It's my favorite.
Leah's character? I think I heard in an interview that she might write a book about Leah someday...so maybe that was the build up of her character? I don't know though. I love Seth's character though. I thought he was great.
P.S. I hope you're feeling okay these days.
I wrote my defense of Jacob black here: http://jeanettesmommymusings.blogspot.com/2009/06/in-defense-of-jacob-black.html
And the fact that he's such a hot 18-year-old in the movies is just a bonus.
But I will say, as a member of Team Jacob, I was satisfied with the outcome of Breaking Dawn in reference to Jacob.
Hey, just wanted to tell you I'm so happy for you! The ultrasound picture is so cute! I'm glad you liked Twilight. I was a little disappointed in the end because I wanted to bad guys to get wiped out. But that probably couldn't happen without some good vampires being killed in the process. Anyway, just wanted to say congratulations!
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed in the Twilight books. Mostly because I was a little turned off by the CONSTANT drooling and lust between the characters. Okay, true, it is a vampire story... but I was hoping for more action and suspense, and less googly-eyes. That being said, it was ok to read once but I am not one of those who has to keep re-reading the books over and over again. Once was good for me.
