Memorial Day

Thank you to all our veteran and active military service people and their families. We owe our life of freedom, opportunity, unparalleled prosperity and ease to you!

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is
the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is
the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is
the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is
the VETERAN, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote.

I just read that, mom's email. I really liked it. I'm sad that I didn't go to any of them memorials to remember the real reason for the holiday. I said, "I wanted to do something on Memorial Day, I'm in Washington, DC!" People told me I did do something... they didn't get what I was saying. These holidays should be remembered for what they are, and NOT just another play day.
